The Parish Council is a member of the Yorkshire Local Councils (YLCA) which provides support and training for the Parish Councillors and Clerk and access to support from the National Association of Local Councils (NALC).

The Parish Council exists solely to represent the interests of the whole of the North Duffield community and is made up of voluntary Parish Councillors who are all local residents. Parish Councillors serve a form year term with the next election due in Spring . People on the electoral role can be co-opted on to the Parish Council if a vacancy occurs during the four year term or if there are not sufficient candidates at an election for all the seats to be filled.

PARISH COUNCIL OF NORTH DUFFIELD VACANCY FOR A COUNCILOR TO BE FILLED BY CO-OPTION The above Parish Council will consider filling by co-option a casual vacancy for a Councillor at its meeting to be held on Thursday 5th November 2020 at 7pm. Anyone interested in serving the community in this way and would like to become a candidate for co-option should write to the clerk at clerk@northduffieldpc.co.uk by 30th October 2020. Information on eligibility, the role of the parish council and its schedule of meetings may be obtained from the clerk.
